From a Summer Job Straight to Project Management: Till’s Success Story
Till started with a summer job in the receiving department. It was a classic start to his career, but it was precisely there that he gained a personal insight into our company and decided to pursue a dual degree program.
Today, at age 20, he’s in his fourth semester studying mechanical engineering (specializing in production engineering) at DHBW Stuttgart and is right in the thick of project management at HAHN Gasfedern.
What drives Till? “I really enjoy working as an engineer, and the dual degree program gives me the opportunity to contribute to a company early on,” he explains. At HAHN, he isn’t seen as just a “student,” but as a colleague who bears real responsibility. He tackles the theoretical phases at the university with such motivation because he sees at HAHN how his knowledge is directly applied in practice.
From the CNC machine to the digital future of industry: Louis’s journey
Louis completed an apprenticeship as a machinist—the perfect foundation for his current specialization. An AI course changed the course of his career. Today, he develops AI models for machines and equips CNC systems with sensors to prevent machine breakdowns in small and medium-sized businesses through predictive maintenance—right in the heart of Swabia’s SME sector.
His takeaway: “The fact that you can actually predict when a machine will run into problems—I found that impressive.”
When asked if you have to be a math genius, he laughs: “Sure, a basic understanding helps. But interest and motivation are much more important.”
